Saturday (7-7-12)
I started the day by doing some outside painting very
quickly. I finished just a little
but it shows. I had to hurry as I
wanted to get all cleaned up before Richard and Lauren arrived. Richard left earlier that he had first
told me so I still drying my hair when they arrived. We hung out for a while and then headed out for our night at
the Sounders game. Oh my, this was
really VIP. We had valet parking, and
then we had a tour of the entire stadium.
We were seated at a table right on the centerline and just behind the
little barrier. We were given
snacks and drinks. Then a huge
platter of prawns came out for us.
Our dinner was delivered at half time as we requested. Scott and Richard had steaks that were
so big. Neither of them finished. I had a huge chunk of Halibut and
Lauren ordered Chicken. Everything
was delicious. We were given
sounders scarves, on jersey and a special sounders glass. It was a fabulous night. It was great to have Richard with us
and see him have such a great time.
He enjoyed the game so much that he couldn’t believe it was over. And they won!
Sunday 7-8-12
In the morning I walked the 5-mile drive and Lauren came
with me only she ran. She said it
felt good to run. Running always
helps clear your mind.
Richard and Laruen left before noon. Richard made his wonderful breakfast
sandwiches for us. Both he and
Laruen had places to go and people to meet in Seattle and I had to get ready to
go to Packwood. It was tough. I cried after they left. I thought about life and how it is
changing. I thought about my life
without Kathryn and Richard getting older and our time together becoming less
and less. One child is gone
forever and the other is drifting away.
And I cried more and harder.
On the ride to Packwood
I became very depressed. I
couldn’t hold it back. I cried
again. I even thought some things
that I shouldn’t have thought.
Jumping out the van and ending the pain. But I know I can’t do this. Scott needs me and I couldn’t cause more pain in Richard’s
life. So I pushed those thoughts
away.
By time we got to Packwood I was feeling a little better. Don’t worry I’m fine and wouldn’t do
anything stupid. I started the
Laundry and cleaning as we just had renters. I took a little nap and after dinner I took a shower as
Scott suggested it would make me feel better. It did help.
There was a huge thunder and lighting storm. We stood outside for a while and watched. Angels bowling in heaven. My Mom always told me that thunder was
the Angels bowling in Heaven. I
also shared this with my children.
There were certainly a lot of strikes by those angels last night. I remember one time coming home from a
wedding. There was a huge thunder
and lighting storm. When we drove
up to the house there was Richard and Kathryn sitting on the front lawn with
the babysitter watching the storm.
I guess they were not afraid like most little kids. I think they were only 7 and 3 at the
time.
Monday 7-9-12
A new day. I
did much better today. Scott and I
did a bunch of work around the cabin.
We always leave the place ready for renters so that means spotless. I got the upstairs all clean. As I vacuumed the floor in Kathryn’s
room I thought about the big pirate ship that is drawn of the floor under the
carpet. When we first bought the
cabin there wasn’t any carpet in Kathryn’s room. Kathryn and her friend Lexie drew this big pirate ship on
the floor. I told them they could
since we were going to get carpet later.
The two girls were really into Johnny Depp and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Lexie made Kathryn a beautiful luminary
that had a Pirate Ship cut out. It
was fantastic. We saved all of the
luminaries from her service.
Towards the end of the day we went swimming. Our community in Packwood has a couple
of pools and a 9-hole golf course.
It was 109 degrees there today.
On our way home we stopped by my Mom’s for a short visit and
then stopped to see my brother too.
Good Night
Carol,it was good to see you last week. Say Hi to Scott and Richard. I just wanted you to know I'm still reading....Leslie
