Mother’s Day 5-13-12
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you Mom’s out there.
I didn’t have too hard of a time today. I started by getting things ready to
have my Mom and three brother’s over with their wives and children. When getting the paper plates and stuff
out I looked at what I had and where it came from. Most of it came from Kathryn’s service. All the brightly colored plates and
napkins where all her. Yes, that
made me cry a bit. I also ended up
using a some adorable plastic plates that Kathryn had bought for me one
Mother’s day. They are blue, green
and white with fish on them.
Richard called me early in the morning to wish me a Happy
Mother’s Day. He’s very
thoughtful. He also called later
while we were all eating to wish Grandma a happy mother’s day. Scott gave me a beautiful card and
ring. The ring had two hearts one
was a peridot and the second an amethyst.
Then there were two little diamonds on each side. The two hearts are birthstones from my
birthday month and from Richard’s and Kathryn’s birthday month. I can’t keep it though. It only has one February heart not
two. This would remind me that
Kathryn is gone and I have one child here with me not two. I explained to Scott that I have three
rings that have two stones to represent both Richard and Kathryn and I can’t
keep this one. The rings I already
have are perfect.
We had a wonderful brunch with the family. I even received a card and big huge
fuchsia plant from my brother’s. I
certainly wasn’t expecting anything.
Everything was perfect. I
did forget to put out the deviled eggs.
I was bummed about that.
All and all a very good day.
My friend Robyn came over and she cleaned up the kitchen. Wow, that was a nice gift.
Richard called again to see how the day went. It was nice to end my day this way.
God bless you and your sweet family! I'm so glad that the day was a good one for you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a nice Mother's Day. I hope Kathryn's sweet smell was with you to comfort your soul. I know she was smiling and happy for you.
